Can THC Carts Expire?

Yes. THC carts contain cannabis oil, and like many plant-derived oils, they lose potency and flavor over time as they react with heat, light, and air. The cart itself doesn't "go bad" like milk, but the experience definitely fades.

Can I Use A Cart From 2 Years Ago?

Maybe, if it was sealed and stored well. Inspect the oil for color and consistency, check for any musty smell, and start with a small puff. If it tastes harsh or feels flat, replace it rather than push through a whole session.

Is A 2-Year-Old Vape Still Good?

It depends entirely on storage. A sealed, cool-stored cart from a quality brand may still be usable at the two-year mark, while the same cart left in a hot car may be past its prime in months. Sight, smell, and taste tell the truth.

What Does An Expired Cart Look Like?

Dark brown or sludgy oil, separation or crystallization inside the tank, bubbles that don't move when you tilt it, and buildup near the mouthpiece. The hit usually tastes harsh or burnt even at low voltage.

What Does A Moldy Cart Look Like?

Cloudy patches, fuzzy spots inside the tank, or a sour, musty smell when you pop the cap. Mold in a cart is rare but not impossible, especially in humid storage. If you see it, toss the cart. Don't try to "burn it off."

Why Is Storing My Cart Upright Such A Big Deal?

Upright storage keeps the oil seated against the wick, which helps prevent flooding into the airpath and helps the cart draw evenly. Sideways or upside-down storage can push oil into the mouthpiece, leading to leaks, clogs, and the wick drying out at the bottom.

How Long Do THC Cartridges Last After Opening?

Generally, 6 to 12 months when stored in a cool, dark spot. Frequent users may finish well within that window, while occasional users should be a little more careful about storage since the cart will sit longer between uses.
