Having CBD oil in your possession that amounts to less than three ounces is a misdemeanor charge in the state. That entails a $1,000 and up to a year behind bars. Meanwhile, going beyond the three-ounce mark carries a heftier sanction of up to $10,000 in fines and up to five years locked up.

Many veterinarians have turned to CBD to deal with different pet issues. However, Idaho prohibited CBD use for dogs in 2022. The State Department of Agriculture issued a memorandum to local retailers, emphasizing that cannabidiol is a contaminated product and, therefore, illegal for pet use.
