LIVING SOIL | THCA FLOWER | BUBBLEGUM

Grown in living soil

The soil is the short version of why this flower is different. Instead of feeding the plant a liquid nutrient schedule in an inert medium, living soil keeps a whole microbial ecosystem alive in the pot and lets the plant take what it needs when it needs it.

It is slower and the yields are smaller, and that is the trade. What you get back is a flower that carries its full terpene profile instead of a thinned-out version of it. Sweet strains are where this shows up most obviously. Pushed hard in an inert medium, they come out tasting flat and one-dimensional, all sugar and nothing else. Grown properly, you get the floral and earthy layers that sit under the sweetness, which is where a strain like Bubblegum actually lives.

Where it comes from

Bubblegum goes back to Indiana in the 1970s, and the full genetic history was never properly recorded. What survived is the flavor, which is why the name has been borrowed by so many strains since.

The original is sweeter than you expect and softer than the imitations. Candy up front, then a floral note, then berry underneath, with an earthy base holding it together. Caryophyllene leads the terpenes and brings the pepper that keeps the sugar from getting cloying. Limonene adds brightness and myrcene supplies the herbal depth.

What to expect

This is a mellow indica with a good mood attached. People report happiness, relaxation, and a mild euphoria, more a pleasant settling than a heavy sedation.

At 23.24% THCA it is approachable, which suits a strain you smoke for the flavor as much as the effect.

Evening is the natural fit, though it is easy enough to enjoy in the afternoon.

Worth a jar

Most sweet strains on the shelf today are chasing something Bubblegum did first, and most of them are sweeter without being better. If you want the original, grown the slow way so the floral and earthy parts survive, this is it.
