ZAZA | THCA EXOTIC FLOWER | CHEMDAWG

HAVE YOU MET ZAZA?

If you’ve smoked Sour Diesel or OG Kush, you’ve smoked Chemdawg’s kids. The story goes back to a Grateful Dead show in the early nineties, a bag bought in the parking lot, and a handful of seeds that got grown out and passed around. Nobody has fully verified the details and that’s part of the appeal. What isn’t in question is the lineage. Half the gas strains on the market trace back here.

The aroma is the whole point. Diesel first, sharp and almost solvent-like, with a heavy earthy funk underneath. Caryophyllene leads the terpene profile, which is where the pepper comes from, with myrcene giving it the musky base and limonene adding a thin citrus edge. It’s pungent enough that the jar announces itself from across the room.

What Chemdawg feels like

This is a real hybrid, not an indica wearing a hybrid label. People report a strong euphoric lift with a tingly body feel, and it stays fairly balanced rather than pulling hard in one direction. At 35% THCA it also hits harder than most, so a smaller amount goes further than you’d expect.

It suits an evening or a slow afternoon. Newer smokers should treat it with some respect.

Indoor grown

Chemdawg is grown indoors under controlled conditions. Gas terpenes are the first thing to go dull in a rushed dry and cure, so a controlled room is the difference between a Chemdawg that smells like the real thing and one that smells vaguely herbal. The buds are dense and the aroma is loud.

It tests at 35.00% THCA, which is the top of our current shelf. If you want the strain that set the standard for gas, this is it.
