New York State is a gorgeous state filled with natural wonders. It’s also one of the nation’s latest markets for hemp and hemp-derived products, with a fully regulated hemp industry, and governing bodies monitoring hemp cultivation, processing, and retail program of industrial hemp.

The stricter regulations affect growing, processing, transporting, and selling hemp in New York State. We’ll discuss ordering hemp products in NY, including Delta-9 THC and CBD products. We’ll also touch upon the legality of CBD products.

What Hemp Products Can I Order In New York?

New York State State Department of Hearth announced new regulations for cannabinoid hemp products back in 2020. They outlined the Cannabinoid Hemp Program to license hemp growers, cultivators, processors, and retailers. Though it doesn’t affect those looking to indulge in some recreational use, it’s actually great news for buyers of hemp in New York.

The Farm Bill made it legal for hemp growers to grow hemp plants—cannabis plants that contain less than 0.3% of Delta-9 THC. However, the industry has remained unregulated since then, which flooded the market with sub-par par products which often falsely advertised their content to customers.

Thanks to high quality standards and testing, we are compliant with NY state standards and deliver our products across the state. Below is the list of Hemp products we offer to New York residents.

CBD (and Full-Spectrum)

CBD products, including full-spectrum products, are often reported to have therapeutic properties and are perfectly legal hemp in New York as long as they contain less than 0.3% of Delta-9 THC, according to federal law. And now, with additional regulation, you can be sure that your CBD product really contains what it says on the label.

So, if you’re looking to ship CBD products, including full-spectrum products which contain other cannabinoids and terpenes for a more rich flavor, you should check out what we at the Hemp Doctor have to offer.

The usual product range includes CBD oils and other distillates, CBD pre-rolls and flowers for those who like more traditional consumption, CBD disposable vapes and vape cards, and edibles—the latter is also regulated.

Delta-9 THC

According to, New York legalized recreational cannabis use for New Yorkers 21 and older to possess up to three ounces of cannabis and up to 24 grams of concentrated cannabis—which actually may contain between 40% and 90% of Delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol.

The Hemp Doctor ships all sorts of hemp in New York, including hemp-derived Delta-9 THC flowers and pre-rolls, oils, tinctures, distillates, and edibles. Let’s not forget disposable vapes and vape cartridges, all available for shipping in individual packaging or bulk quantities at a discount price.

HHC and Delta-8 THC

Unfortunately, HHC and Delta-8 THC are illegal in New York State. The new laws and regulations restrict the production and sale of THC isomers, including HHC and Delta-8 THC, despite their federally legal status or the fact that they’re basically hemp extracts.

NY State has made HHC and Delta’-8 THC illegal to produce and sell.

What Are The Laws About Hemp In New York State?

With the new regulations in place, New York State Hemp laws have become pretty strict. Recreational adult-use cannabis is legal for NY residents who are 21 years or older, but it does come with some restrictions. For example, you can’t have more than three ounces only for your person, selling any amount is a misdemeanor, and selling over 25 grams without a license is a felony.

Furthermore, you don’t need a hemp grower license to grow marijuana for personal use. You can grow up to six herbs, only three of which may mature simultaneously at any time. Cannabidiol products, on the other hand, are very strictly regulated.

For example, CBD edibles can’t contain more than 25mg of CBD per product, and while the substance is allowed in food and drink, its presence in products that also contain tobacco or alcohol isn’t. Dietary supplements can’t contain more than 3g (3,000 milligrams) of CBD.

However, hemp products can have more than 0.3% THC—and up to 3%—but only when handled by appropriately licensed hemp farmers and hemp processors. Furthermore, processors can’t claim that their products have any medical or therapeutic properties and have to be tested by a third-party lab for heavy metals, microbial impurities, and THC and CBD content before entering the market.
