Proper hygiene practices are a hot topic these days, as everyone is looking for tips to stay healthy, keep their hands clean, and avoid getting sick. Hand sanitizer has never been in higher demand, and we have even begun singing songs while we wash our hands to be sure we scrub long enough to eliminate bacteria.
We have become extremely conscientious about touching our own faces, avoiding shaking hands, and wiping down surfaces, but it can be easy to forget about some less obvious places that germs can live. For instance, when was the last time you wiped down your cell phone? How about your toothbrush handle? Steering wheels, makeup brushes, can openers, and TV remotes… The list of things we touch and don’t really think about cleaning is almost shocking!
When it comes to your daily habits, it would be very beneficial to implement a few simple but very effective hygiene practices to prevent the spread of germs. At The Hemp Doctor, America’s Premier Hemp & CBD Dispensary, we specialize in all things hemp and CBD-related, but at our core, we are passionate about promoting true wellness. That’s why we have compiled these simple product preparation tips to incorporate into your daily routine to help you do everything possible to stay well!
Product Preparation: Four Easy Tips
Whether you’re enjoying something from our cutting-edge CBD inventory or any other wellness product, it is important to take a few precautions, especially when it comes to something you plan to consume. Here are some easy-to-implement tips from our team of professionals:
- Wash your hands. Yes, this seems obvious. But we had to put it on the list because it can be so easy to forget. Handle your product packages and your actual products with clean hands. You don’t want remnants of this morning’s breakfast living in or on your wellness products. Wash your hands first, before anything else.
- Only touch what you plan to consume. When you plan to take softgels, gummies, or any other product where there are several in the bottle, you might be inclined to reach into the bottle, feel around, and grab your daily dosage. Don’t do this. The best and most sanitary way to retrieve your product is to gently pour the products into the cap, touch only the products you are going to consume, pour the rest into the bottle, and seal it tightly.
- Store your products in a cabinet or drawer – not out in the open. We always recommend storing your products in a cool, dry place to maximize their shelf life. However, properly storing your products is a good hygiene practice as well. Leaving your product bottles out in the open, especially in a bathroom where there are microscopic particles in the air, can leave your packages covered in bacteria. Keeping your bottles in a medicine cabinet or nightstand drawer will keep them from accumulating unnecessary dust and germs.
- Avoid sharing your products. While it is easier to avoid sharing germs with softgels and gummies (by pouring the product into the cap and only touching your dosage), it can be difficult to avoid cross-contamination with other products. You should never share your vape pen or tincture because these products make direct contact with your mouth.
Note: Even without sharing, it’s important to wipe down your vape pen to keep it clean. Regarding tinctures, you can wash off your dropper after administering your dosage under your tongue as an added layer of caution before putting it back in the bottle.
These simple tips can help you avoid spreading germs and bacteria, and keep you enjoying the products you use daily, safely. Being extra conscientious is better than risking getting sick, and these easy tips are truly fool-proof! Stay well and keep enjoying your wellness products.
Hemp-Derived CBD: Supporting a Nervous Nation
COVID-19 has truly made a lasting impact on our lives. Hygiene was important before, but now, it seems vital. The above tips are helpful all the time – not just during a pandemic. But it seemed like a perfect time to share these reminders because we really want to do everything to help you stay healthy.
CBD has increased in popularity during this pandemic, as more consumers are seeking all-natural ways to alleviate the emotional and physical burdens of these recent events. CBD has become a reliable option to turn to because of the all-natural benefits it offers, including:
- Offering a true sense of peace and emotional clarity, even for the most wound-up individuals;
- Encouraging mental focus;
- Supporting tired muscles after a strenuous workout, aiding in their prompt recovery;
- Soothing fatigued joints, whether they are overworked or bothersome due to age;
- Helping to promote a relaxing, restful night’s sleep so you can wake up refreshed;
- Providing topical relief for bodily discomfort;
- Nourishing skin while penetrating to promptly deliver head-to-toe relief;
- & much more!
CBD rapidly rose in popularity in 2018 when The Farm Bill passed, making all hemp-derived CBD products legal to purchase and consume in the United States. Since early 2020, when COVID-19 began impacting the daily lives of just about everyone, interest in CBD surged again. Consumers are rushing to place their online orders and have CBD delivered to their doors, and they have been pleased with the results of this all-natural compound. CBD is an attractive wellness option because:
- It is completely legal.
- It delivers several benefits naturally.
- Consumers do not experience psychoactive side-effects with CBD derived from hemp because it is a different substance than it’s cousin plant, marijuana.
- Hemp-derived CBD contains a maximum of .3% THC, which is considered miniscule. Full-spectrum CBD products contain up to .3% THC, and broad-spectrum CBD products have the THC removed, so customers have two appealing options.
- It is highly versatile, so it can be taken many ways, including:
- It is non-addictive. The body is not known to develop a tolerance to it, so once you find your ideal dosage, it won’t need to be adjusted.
These are some of the many reasons people are flocking to CBD, and it’s not hard to find online testimonials and anecdotes from happy consumers sharing their personal success stories. Hemp-derived CBD is truly changing lives!
The Hemp Doctor: Committed to Quality
Because CBD is so popular, it can be found just about anywhere. The quality is not the same across the board, though, so it’s important to only purchase high-quality CBD from a brand you can trust. You wouldn’t buy your sushi at a gas station for obvious reasons, and you shouldn’t buy your CBD there either. From coast to coast, CBD enthusiasts trust The Hemp Doctor with all of their CBD and hemp needs, because we truly are the experts and the quality of our products is unparalleled.
Our Premium CBD products are used by everyday people and famous athletes alike! We hope you join the CBD family so you can reap all of the benefits of our organically-grown, high-quality products. Contact us today to get started!
CBD continues to sweep the nation, as it’s one of the few growing businesses (despite a struggling economy) during the COVID-19 pandemic. The CBD and hemp industry is not only surviving these trying times, they are thriving – and there’s a good reason for it. CBD offers a holistic, natural type of support that you simply can’t find over the counter anywhere else, and it’s unbelievably versatile, too.
It makes sense that, when experiencing all-time high levels of emotional fatigue, consumers are seeking all-natural, non-addictive solutions. Especially lately, everyday Americans are experiencing heavy emotional burdens as they face:
- Job loss, cutback of hours, or furlough
- Personal illness
- Caring for a sick loved one
- Homeschooling children
- Balancing working from home with other responsibilities
- General fear during these uncertain times
- …and many other unique, challenging circumstances
To get through this difficult time, eager customers have begun bulk ordering their favorite CBD products, just to make sure they have them on hand when they need them. We understand the thought process here, because peace of mind is just about as important as the toilet paper many have been hoarding. But there are a few things to consider before stockpiling too much of your favorite products.
Before Panic Purchasing, Things To Consider:
First, we can confidently say that CBD isn’t going anywhere, so you don’t have to fear that you won’t be able to find your favorite products. Industry leaders, like The Hemp Doctor, not only stay ahead of the curve by ensuring the most cutting-edge CBD products are available to you, but they also are manufacturing products quickly and diligently to keep up with demand. If you see a good sale, definitely buy a few bottles, try new product releases, and plan ahead to support your own mental and physical health. But remember, while these products are taking the wellness industry by storm, they are the most potent and effective when used sooner rather than later.
That brings us to the topic of product shelf life. It is the most important reason to not get too out of control when buying in bulk.
In general, your CBD products should be stored indoors in a room-temperature, dry place. Even portable products made to be used on-the-go, like CBD gum or CBD freeze cream, should be kept in a bag or purse and shouldn’t be kept in direct sunlight or left in your vehicle.
Most favorites, like CBD Softgels and CBD Tinctures, have a shelf life of 18 months. What this essentially means is, as long as you store your CBD product properly, the specially-formulated compounds (and the supplemental ingredients) will be optimally effective for about 18 months.
Does this mean your products will be completely ineffective after 18 months?
But they are unlikely to be as potent and fast-acting, as the active ingredients will have likely begun to degrade. It doesn’t mean your product needs to be thrown in the trash immediately, but they may not be as helpful because, frankly, they’ve gotten old and sat too long. We don’t recommend letting your valuable CBD products go untouched for several months. It is not only a waste of your hard-earned money, but it’s relief you could have benefited from, which would be a shame in itself.
Potential Shelf Life Outliers
Many wellness products are shelf-stable for a year or more, so the 18-month shelf life for CBD Softgels and CBD Tinctures makes perfect sense. However, we encourage you to closely read the package of any CBD product you purchase, because there may be outliers. Because CBD is so popular and versatile, high-end companies are getting very creative with their products. There are various types of edibles or beverage mixes that may be single-use, like a CBD lollipop or energy drink packet, for example. Simply reading the package to be sure of your product’s shelf life will help you maximize your purchase.

CBG is quickly gaining traction in the wellness industry, and consumers, retailers, and even researchers are becoming highly intrigued by it. CBG has many similar traits to the superstar compound you may already know and love: CBD.
Hemp-derived CBD began dominating the headlines in 2018 when The Farm Bill was passed. Essentially, this lengthy legislation legalized all hemp-derived CBD products containing.3% THC or less for purchase and consumption in the United States. Immediately, eager consumers began giving it a try, and the rest is history. To this day, CBD receives praise in online reviews, message boards, and in many personal anecdotes. People love the all-natural, non-addictive compound because it is so versatile, and it delivers results.
CBG hasn’t gotten the same glitzy start as CBD, but it’s mostly because the wellness potential of this rare, elusive compound remains untapped. There are still many questions about CBG, but thanks to some recent hard work from diligent researchers and dedicated farmers, we have many more answers now than ever before – and the future of CBG is looking bright.
What Is CBG?
CBG, short for cannabigerol, is one of the many dynamic compounds extracted from the hemp plant. Like CBD, this compound is among over 100 other cannabinoids that team up to naturally deliver emotional and physical relief to daily discomforts and fatigues.
Recently dubbed “the Rolls Royce” of cannabinoids, CBG is quickly establishing a shiny public image. Because CBG is promising to be so effective, yet it is only found in approximately 1% of the mature hemp plant, it can be more challenging to extract large amounts of it to use in wellness products. This is making CBG more intriguing and sought after, as curious consumers can’t wait to give it a try.
Fun fact about CBG:
You may not realize this, but many of the other vital compounds in your favorite wellness products only exist because of CBG!
CBG begins its life cycle as CBG-A (cannabigerol acid) and, through the fascinating process of photosynthesis, the acids are converted into cannabinoids. This means CBG plays a crucial role in the hemp plant’s production of CBD, THC, and other well-known, hemp-derived compounds you may have in your medicine cabinet right now.
CBG is found in a bit more abundance in the younger stages of plant development because, as we mentioned earlier, it eventually converts into other cannabinoids. In order to maximize how much CBG can be extracted from a healthy hemp plant, cultivators have worked hard to pinpoint the perfect moment in the plant’s life cycle to harvest and extract the high-end compound.
With impeccable timing and commitment, this hard work has paid off and we are now finally able to yield higher amounts of CBG during extraction and purification. This will result in a CBG market debut that stands to take the wellness market by storm.
How Is CBG Extracted?
Because CBG is a cannabinoid, it is extracted using the same standard methods as CBD and other compounds extracted from hemp. There are several ways to extract cannabinoids from the leaves and stalks of the hemp plant, but here are the methods used by the most reputable brands:
1) The CO2 Extraction Method
The CO2 extraction method uses Supercritical carbon dioxide – that is, CO2 that contains both liquid and gas properties – to extract the compound from the hemp plant. The process involves the use of three pressurized chambers:
- The first chamber contains the pressurized Supercritical CO2.
- The second chamber contains the hemp plant.
- CO2 is pumped from the first chamber into the second, exposing the hemp to Supercritical CO2, which causes the oil to separate from the plant.
- Next, both the CO2 and the oil are pumped together into the third chamber. After the gas evaporates, the final result is pure, concentrated oil.
2) The Solvent Extraction Method
The Solvent extraction method uses a solvent – like ethanol, butane, or propane, alcohol, or isopropyl – to strip the hemp plant of it’s concentrated cannabinoids. Hemp flowers and plant trimmings are soaked in the solvent, and the powerful liquid disintegrates the plant’s natural waxes, leaving behind only the beneficial compounds. Then, an evaporation process eliminates the residual solvent and the concentrated cannabinoid oil remains.
There are other ways CBG can be extracted, but these are the two primary methods used by the most reputable retailers. These methods are not recommended to try at home, as they are quite complex and can be very dangerous. However, there is a popular at-home alternative some adventurous consumers have tried.
In the comfort of your own kitchen, you can finely chop up hemp plant trimmings, place them on a cookie sheet, and bake them at 225º for about an hour. This helps the acids in the plant evolve to their non-acidic forms – a process called decarboxylating. Once cool, add the trimmings and olive oil to a double boiler, lightly simmer (not boil!) water over the double boiler for 2-3 hours, letting the hemp infuse the oil. It’s important the temperature remains very low because high heat can compromise the integrity of the important compounds. Once infused then cooled, use a cheesecloth to strain the trimmings from the oil. You’ll be left with a cannabinoid-infused oil to use in your favorite recipes! Note: This method yields only small concentrations of these compounds compared to the products you’d buy in stores or online.
The Best Hemp Products Are at The Hemp Doctor
These extraction methods are quite complex and scientifically advanced, and often, they are very costly. However, the nation’s top CBD retailers, like The Hemp Doctor, will never cut corners to save money, especially on something requiring impeccable precision like compound extraction.
Only expert extraction and purification using cutting-edge equipment will ensure that the final product is preserving every valuable compound while removing every unwanted, unhealthy ingredient like residual solvents, molds, and pesticides. Our proprietary process is precise and rigorous and leaves only the highest quality cannabinoids on the market.
There are many places to buy hemp-derived products like CBD oil, CBG oil, and other phytocannabinoid-rich wellness products. This is why The Hemp Doctor, America’s Premier Hemp & CBD Dispensary, works hard to stand out from the pack. From our extraordinary personalized customer service to our unparalleled inventory of cutting edge products, we offer an educational, supportive wellness experience. Contact us today to get started!

Those three big letters are plastered on billboards, on products in stores, and all over the internet as the health trend has become a permanent fixture in the wellness market. Thousands of CBD enthusiasts simply can’t praise CBD enough for the impact it has made on their daily lives. If you use CBD regularly, you may know a bit about it, but if not, you may still be curious about exactly what it is.
Now, in addition to CBD, another compound is making headlines, and it is sparking many questions from curious consumers. CBG is hitting the market and making a splash, and people can’t wait to learn all about it. At The Hemp Doctor, hemp is our expertise and we are known for leading the charge on all things hemp-related. We are eager to share everything you need to know about hemp-derived products, including CBD and CBG, so you can make the right choices when you are shopping for wellness products.
CBD vs. CBG: How They’re Alike and How They Differ
People tend to get excited when new products hit the market. When it comes to CBG, it is not only exciting because it’s “new” to people, it is impressing researchers who are analyzing its wellness potential. The promising outcomes and the untapped potential is getting scientists excited, and we are feeling pretty eager, too. This is setting the stage for CBG to potentially skyrocket once it hits the market in a big way! Let’s explore exactly what CBD is, what CBG is, and how they are alike and different. This can help us be in the know when more products inundate the wellness market so we can shop with confidence and true understanding.
What Is CBD?
CBD is short for cannabidiol, and it is:
- ✔ one of the many compounds called cannabinoids extracted from the cannabis plant.
- ✔ completely natural.
- ✔ non-addictive.
When CBD is derived from hemp, it:
- ✔ naturally contains no more than .3% THC.
- ✔ does not produce mind-altering side effects.
- ✔ is completely legal in the United States.
Research is continuing to uncover new ways CBD can engage with and influence the body. Currently, it is known to enter the bloodstream and interact with our endocannabinoid system positively, creating a harmonious balance while bringing our bodies closer to homeostasis – that is, it’s optimal functioning.
What Is CBG?
CBG is short for cannabigerol, and it is:
- ✔ non-addictive.
- ✔ also completely natural.
- ✔ another one of the many cannabinoids extracted from the cannabis plant.
When CBG is derived from hemp, it:
- ✔ is completely legal in the United States.
- ✔ naturally contains no more than .3% THC.
- ✔ does not produce mind-altering side effects.
CBG is a lesser-known cannabinoid because it only makes up about 1% of the full-grown hemp plant’s chemical profile. CBG is most concentrated in young hemp plants. As the hemp plant matures, the CBG compound evolves into other well-known compounds, like CBD, leaving very little of the original cannabinoid (CBG) left.
As researchers delve into CBG and it’s health-evoking potential, they are discovering that, if farmers harvest the hemp plant at the perfect time, they can preserve more of the beneficial compound. There is still a lot to be discovered about CBG, but early studies show that, like CBD, it interacts harmoniously with the endocannabinoid system, and in some cases, it engages more effectively with the body than other cannabinoids. This research is in its infancy but is promising nonetheless.
CBD & CBG: Compare and Contrast
As you can see, both CBD and CBG are cannabinoids. They are both natural, safe, and non-addictive. Both are derived from plants in the cannabis family, and specifically, when derived from hemp, they are legal in the United States.
Currently, it appears that CBG can be used in similar ways as CBD, and it offers similar benefits to the body. For example, CBG can help reduce feelings of emotional fatigue, physical fatigue, and help support a healthy sleep routine. It can deliver prompt relief to uncomfortable muscles and overworked or aging joints.
While both compounds are derived from hemp, CBD appears to be much more abundant in a healthy hemp plant, making CBD a bit easier to extract, purify, and use in wellness products.
Extracting large amounts of potent CBG, however, is still a work in progress. Because it is newly being researched and explored, and the compound is less prevalent in the hemp plant, it takes much more time, money, and precision to acquire CBG – making it a more rare treasure.
One thing remains, whether you shop for CBD, CBG, or wellness products containing both compounds, choosing a trusted brand is incredibly important. Your brand of choice should always share how they grow their hemp (organically, always!) and how they process it to extract the beneficial compounds safely. Also, they should always utilize an unbiased third-party lab to test their final products for purity. The lab results should be available to you online easily, too.
The Hemp Doctor: Pioneers of All Things Hemp
Of course, because CBD and CBG both come from the marvelous hemp plant, The Hemp Doctor, America’s Premier Hemp & CBD Dispensary, is ahead of the curve once again – because hemp is our specialty. Every day, there’s new information about the coronavirus swimming around on the internet. Eager people are desperate to have daily life get back to normal, so they’re relying on online articles and promising products to offer miracle cures. COVID-19 has thrown a wrench into the plans of millions across the nation (and the world) as proms, graduations, vacations, sporting events, and concerts have all been canceled, leaving people disappointed, to say the least. We know deep down that missing an event is a small price to pay to avoid spreading a potentially deadly virus, however, it still stings. We so desperately want a solution.
Now, we know this is obvious, but it has to be said: Everything you read on the internet is not true. Of course, you know this, but it doesn’t stop hopeful everyday folks from believing false information because they saw it online. That being said, we have to make this absolutely clear:
At this time, there is no known anti-viral for the coronavirus – including CBD.
It’s a disappointment, we know. But it’s true, and don’t let the internet tell you otherwise. No matter what you read, CBD is not an antiviral for COVID-19. If you suspect that you are sick, seek professional medical attention immediately and don’t rely on unsubstantiated internet claims for at-home, anti-viral remedies.
CBD – What This “Wonder-Supplement” Can Do
While CBD isn’t a cure or anti-viral for the coronavirus (and we have yet to find one thus far), it receives enthusiastic praise every day for the many things it can do. If you are new to CBD and you don’t know what it’s capable of, here are a few of the top reasons people use the all-natural compound every day as part of their wellness routine.
❖ To start the day, CBD is taken to provide a sense of clarity and offers a natural mental boost. Consumers typically take a CBD softgel or tincture with breakfast. Another popular option for many is to make a CBD latte or CBD smoothie.
❖ Throughout a hectic or strenuous day, when consumers need midday support, many reach for a CBD energy drink or tea. Delivering quick, sustainable relief for the wound-up mind, these CBD products make it easier to get through a busy day.
❖ After a challenging fitness routine, when muscles and joints are fatigued, CBD balm or freeze cream is applied topically to deliver prompt relief. Topical CBD products offer targeted, nourishing support to aid in the post-workout recovery process.
❖ Before bed, when the body and mind are feeling exhausted yet the mind struggles to lull into a restful slumber, a CBD Softgel + Melatonin is a popular ideal solution. Harnessing the power of both CBD and all-natural melatonin, the body can more easily relax and unwind. The product continues to release into the bloodstream throughout the night, helping to ensure individuals not only fall asleep, but stay soundly asleep until morning.
Morning to night time, there are versatile uses for this well-rounded wellness product. Between diligent researchers and eager consumers, new benefits are being discovered on a regular basis, making CBD a truly ideal holistic option for just about everyone.
CBD 101: A Basic Guide
Now that you know some of what CBD is capable of, you may be wondering if it’s too good to be true. The internet is full of misnomers on this topic as well, and many people are hesitant to give it a try because they are confused about what CBD actually is and whether it’s legal and safe. Because we know you are eager to reap the benefits of this amazing compound, we are going to clear up any questions you may have so you can be confident as you shop for CBD.
✓ CBD is an all-natural, plant-derived compound.
✓ CBD, short for cannabidiol, is one of many compounds extracted from the hemp plant.
✓ Hemp-derived CBD is completely legal in the United States and has been since The Farm Bill of 2018 was signed into law. The legislation legalized all hemp-derived CBD containing .3% THC or less for production, purchase, and consumption.
✓ Hemp naturally contains extremely low levels of THC, short for tetrahydrocannabinol. THC is the ingredient that produces the “high” feeling typically associated with marijuana. Because hemp contains such small amounts of THC, it does not produce psychoactive side effects, making it a popular option for many.
✓ Hemp is in the cannabis plant family but is a different plant variation than it’s cousin, marijuana. It is important to distinguish the difference because hemp-based products are legal across the United States while marijuana (and products containing it) have a more complicated legal standing. To be clear: hemp-derived CBD products are completely legal.
✓ You can purchase CBD products with miniscule amounts of THC. Or, for your added peace of mind, you can purchase THC-free CBD products. You can easily tell the difference by reading the labels. Look for:
- “Full Spectrum:” Products with this designation have small amounts of naturally occurring THC.
- “Broad Spectrum:” Products with this designation have been processed further to remove small traces of THC.
Note: Full Spectrum and Broad Spectrum CBD products do not cause mind-altering side effects.
✓ CBD is non-addictive, which makes it a more appealing, safe, dependable wellness product.
